Players not to be carried away by media hype

September 16, 2015 4:38 am

Vodafone Flying Fijians assistant coach, Tabai Matson says plans are in place to ensure the players are not caught up in the media hype surrounding the World Cup.

The former Fiji international says too much is being said in the media about each team’s chances and the boys are being advised to keep their focus solely on competing well in the tournament.

“Probably our results in recent times have made people turn and look. But deep down, England think they’re going to get us at home, opening game, Fiji no chance. I think there is a little bit of lip service but we have to take real pride in preparing well and giving them a real good shot.”
