The Vodafone Fiji senior football team will use the upcoming matches against the Wellington Phoenix to develop their potentials and also prepare for World Cup qualifications.

The squad, together with the national Under 23 team marched into camp in Ba, yesterday.

Fiji Football Coach, Carlos Buzzetti says they have only three days remaining to prepare and they are confident of a strong outing.

“As soon as we go there-there’s no need to play a game. The players need to show how much they improve and the standard from the last game we have played together and for us it’s a good opportunity to play in a professional team cause they are professional.”

The team has not been able to have an ideal preparation for the players together since they were committed to their districts.

However, Buzzetti says this will be a chance for the players to showcase their talents and see where they stand compared to international teams.

He also adds he will give all the players in the squad the opportunity to play against the Nix.

The first game is on Saturday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva at 5.30pm, before which the Phoenix Premier side plays the national Under-23 team at 2.30pm.

The return matches will be played on Tuesday next week at Govind Park in Ba.
