The Vodafone Fiji Under 23 football side lost to the Wellington Phoenix Academy 3-1 at Govind Park in Ba.

The Kiwis scored two early goals in the first half and added another in the second spell.

Fiji’s Napolioni Qasevakatini managed to get the hosts on the scoreboard in the 69th minute after being set up by lanky striker, Saula Waqa.

At 6pm, the Fiji senior side will take on Wellington Phoenix and a live commentary will air on Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
