The Pacific Warriors will go in as an underdog in the Rami Sami Nasinu 7s tournament which kicks off on Friday.
The Warriors from Nairai Island were champions in the Lomaiviti sevens tournament and reached the playoffs in the Raka 7s.
Coach Rusiate Bautarua says having more game time and participating in minor and major tournaments builds their confidence in taking on big teams.
“I think the level we train now we can compete with them and we know that we’re watching the sevens we got our level of fitness and everything there we go to the gym and we can compete especially the ruck is a new law coming now so we can compete I think we can come up with something this weekend”.
Thirty-six teams have confirmed their participation in the inaugural Nasinu 7s with the inclusion of two international teams China and Tuvalu, there nine pool draws. The game kicks off on Friday at Nausori’s Ratu Cakobau Park.
