Olympic hopefuls push on

Expectations are high that more athletes will represent Fiji at the London Olympics in July with qualifying events for swimming, weightlifting and athletics, happening over the next few weeks.

So far, Leslie Copeland from athletics, Glenn Kable from shooting, archer Robert Elder and judoka, Josateki Naulu are the only four who have qualified.

FASANOC is hopeful that with the coming events, the team to the London Games will be bigger.

Weightlifters will be taking a trip to Samoa this weekend.

Coach Joe Vueti is confident that lifters Manueli Tulo and Maria Liku will make the cut.

Meanwhile, national swimmers are currently in New Caledonia hoping to get to London while athletics will get a shot at the end of June in Cairns, Australia.
