O'Brien beats Nawai by TKO

New Zealand- boxer Beau O’Brien is the new World Boxing Foundation Australasian middle-weight champions after beating Siliveni Nawai by TKO last night in the Canada Fiji Southern Boxing Promotion.

Fijian-boxer Siliveni Nawai dominated in the first two rounds where he threw some heavy punches on his overseas opponent.

However, Beau O’Brien settled and took the fight by the throat and he finished the fight very well.

The fight ended in the last minute of round five when the referee stopped the contest as Nawai could not control and replied to O’Brien’s heavy punches.

The combination made by O’Brien was caught by Nawai where he could not defend himself.

O’Brien says Nawai was a tough opponent.

“He’s a tough fighter and he should be proud of himself. He gave us a good contest but we came out stronger in the end and managed to pick up the win and I’m very happy with it.”

Meanwhile, Farzan Ali and Johnny Singh’s fight ended in a draw and Savenaca Naliva beat Opeti Tagi by TKO,Vilimoni Taganikoro knocked out Isoa Naruba in the second round, Shamal Ramanuj stopped Krishneel Chand in the second round, Saimoni Mario beat Shameer Ali in the second round, Filimoni Naliva knocked out Shameer Ali in the second round while Noa Tubaka beat Timothy Lee on points.
