November 4, 2014 5:51 pm

Bayleys Coral Coast 7s defending champions Yamacia will face a daunting task in trying to recapture the title this year.

The Navosa-based side has been grouped in the “Pool of Death” against former champions Red Rock, Graphix Lomaiviti of New Zealand and Uluinakau.

Tournament organizer Nick Jordan says the calibre of teams in this pool will be one of the many attractions during the 3-day tournament at Lawaqa Park next week.

“Yamacia the defending champions, they’ve been overseas in a couple of tournaments come up against Red Rock, the 2-time champions. Another team in that pool is Lomaiviti which includes two of the greats Lote Raikabula and Tomasi Cama. To see all of these players in just one pool is going to be a real treat.”

The Bayleys Coral Coast 7s kicks-off next Thursday with 24 teams taking part in the men’s competition and 16 teams in the women’s division.
The tournament offers a total prize-money of $75,000.
