New South Wales ended Queensland’s 8 year State of Origin dominance with a 6-4 victory in Game 2 last night.

Queensland raced to a 4-nil lead after two Jonathan Thurston penalties, which made him the highest scorer in Origin history with162 points to overtake Maroons coach Mal Meninga.

Tempers flared throughout from both sets of players in a match that produced little in free-flowing play but plenty of aggression.

The dead-rubber Game 3 will be played on July 9th in Brisbane.
