New South Wales ended Queensland’s 8 year State of Origin dominance with a 6-4 victory in Game 2 last night.
The win wraps-up the series following the Blues 12-8 victory in the opening game.
Trent Hodkinson was the hero as he scored the winning try and kicked the winning 2 points to seal the deal.
Queensland raced to a 4-nil lead after two Jonathan Thurston penalties, which made him the highest scorer in Origin history with162 points to overtake Maroons coach Mal Meninga.
Tempers flared throughout from both sets of players in a match that produced little in free-flowing play but plenty of aggression.
The dead-rubber Game 3 will be played on July 9th in Brisbane.
