No overseas based players for Fiji Warriors

Vodafone Flying Fijians Coach, John McKee has confirmed they will be fielding only local players in the Telecom Fiji Warriors side for the 2016 World Rugby Pacific Challenge, next month.

McKee says exposing the players to more tournaments will be his main motive, this season.

He adds they are not focusing on getting any overseas based players yet.

“This year we’ll concentrate on our local based players from the list we’ve been looking out, they might be one player coming down from Japan. But we won’t be getting any players from Australia and New Zealand.”

McKee says they will also select young players and start developing them to represent the national side in years to come.

The Pacific Rugby Challenge that will be held in Suva from the 8th to the 21st of March.
