This was confirmed by Fiji Sports Commission Chairman Peter Mazey who says they have already allocated a budget for Vicky Wilson’s successor.

Mazey says there is enough funding with the Commission to provide for another coach.

He says Wilson is more than welcome to re-apply for the position.

“We are looking for a coach not just to just look after the international team and they aren’t there, their contracts are very clear they are also there to help with the development of the sports and helping to guide our local coaches to higher standards.

Mazey says that the coach does not necessarily have to be a Fijian Citizen, but the coach has to be living in Fiji for the duration of their contract.

He gave examples of Fiji’s Yachting, Sevens and 15’s Coach who are not Fijian citizens but they reside in Fiji.
