Newbies remain in 7s extended squad

Three new players remain in the hunt to be selected in the Vodafone Fiji 7s 12-member squad tomorrow for the opening leg of the World Sevens Series.

Nadroga flyhalf, Alivereti Veitokani, Tabadamu’s Emori Waqa and Yamacia’s Sevuloni Moce are the only uncapped players in the 17-member squad currently in training camp in Deuba.

Ryan has also recalled former national reps, Nemani Nagusa and Waisea Nacuqu.

The core group of players from last season have been retained such as skipper Osea Kolinisau, Pio Tuwai, Isake Katonibau, Apisai Domolailai, Jerry Tuwai, Savenaca Racawa, Jasa Veremalua, Vatemo Ravouvou, Kitione Taliga, Viliame Mata and Emosi Mulevoro.

Amenoni Nasilasila, who was rushed to hospital in Labasa last week after a copping a late tackle during the Macuata 7s, has recovered to be among the contenders for a final spot.

Ryan will name the final 12-member squad tomorrow for the opening leg of the World Series in Dubai on December 4th and 5th.
