November 26, 2015 5:03 pm

Anthony Maelasi of Solomon Islands and Jose Celiz of Palau are expected to provide stiff competition to Fiji’s top players in the National Open Chess Championship.

Both players share an aggressive style which is match-winning and is a strong challenge for local players who will feature in the event.

Top seed and two-time National Champion Candidate Master Calvin Prasad has pulled out of the event due to administrative commitments.
