New date for 2016 Vodafone Trophy

September 10, 2015 12:54 am

The Vodafone Trophy rugby competition, the newly introduced tournament for Tier Two teams, will be played alongside the Skipper Cup competition from next year.

Fiji Rugby Union CEO Radrodro Tabualevu says the competition has been a success and as of 2016, games will be played as a curtain raiser to major union fixtures.

“I’d like to think that they have enjoyed the games. What we have done this year is that rather than have the tournament squeezed into a two-week program, we have spread it over a month. This is keeping with the intention for next year, that we have the Tier 2 level play alongside the Skipper Cup.”
