Team skipper, Thomas Dupont says the win did not come easy.

“Fijian sailors are very good sailors and the level here is very, very high. "

Crew member, Martin Arfosso adds quick decisions gave them the lead.

“Maybe we go to the left to the right, it was very difficult but it was very good opportunity to win today.”

Former champion, Kaveni Natadra says he and team-mate, Tony Tuicaucau faced difficulty in the tricky conditions.

“For me it was just the wind that changed direction, we couldn’t find the wind so much and that’s the time New Caledonia caught up to us.”

Fiji finished as runners-up while Cyril Miller and Samisoni Vereniki came third.
