Netball Fiji conducts clinic for young umpires

The Fiji Netball Association is conducting a workshop that targets younger umpire to develop their skills and learn the trade of officiating netball tournaments.

Fiji Netball Vice President Ruci Caumaitoga says a lot of umpire and official in the country are approaching retirement age.

Caumaitoga says the clinic is aimed and developing younger umpires and officials to take the leading role for netball in the future.

“You notice we’ve targeted the young age group between 15 and 18 and the reason why we are targeting the younger girls is because they can go a long way and achieve their highest achievement which is New Zealand badge.”

Caumaitoga adds they plan to expand the training to other parts of Fiji later this year.
