Netball Fiji is embarking on a development program to scout young talents who have the potential to lead the future of netball in the country.
More than 20 young girls were part of the three-day workshop that concluded yesterday on “Netball Umpiring” at the Vatuwaqa Primary school in Suva.
Youngest participant, 15-year-old, Vitaeli Maleba says she is hoping to pursue officiating as a professional career.

“My coaches, as when we go for training in the afternoon, they would tell me to coach or umpire the small ones, so I started taking up umpiring then – so my coaches asked me to come to this workshop.”
Maleba says the workshop has helped her tremendously and advises young netballers take advantage of this opportunity.
