Navua banks on youths

Continuous rain is hindering Navua football’s preparations for the Courts Inter District Championship but the players remain in high spirits.

Navua Football Association president, Gopal Naidu says they have improvised at training and are looking forward to fielding a young outfit this year.

“This IDC will be our build up for the league so we will use most of our youths with some seniors. The seniors plays time is catching up with them like Seveci Rokotakala so we need to look for suitable replacements and give them this time to learn.”

Naidu says having improved their standing in the league, heading into the IDC will serve as experience for their young and upcoming reps.

Young footballer’s in the likes of Joseph Elder and James Satar will be players to look out for.

Navua’s IDC opener is against Labasa at Govind Park in Ba.

Meanwhile, live commentaries of Day One games between Labasa-Navua, Nadi-Suva and Ba-Rewa will air on Radio Fiji Two with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart.
