The Ministry of Sports will not be wasting any time in setting up the National Sports Commission.

Sports Minister Viliame Naupoto says the commission will oversee and coordinate sporting development throughout the country.

He says a decree is being drafted to be presented to the cabinet.

“The establishment of the National Sports Commission is one of the biggest structural changes in the way we look at the sports as a nation. Hopefully the setting up of the commission helps centralise and regulate sports. This is for development of sports.”

The government has set aside one million dollars for the set up of the Commission.
