National coaches to assist districts

The Fiji Football Association has allowed its national coaches to assist district teams for the upcoming Courts Inter District Championships.

With the tournament starting next week, teams such as Ba, Lautoka, Tavua and Nadi have already made requests to the parent body for assistance.

Fiji FA acting technical director, Ravinesh Kumar, says they are willing to assist all teams that need help.

So far Kumar’s assistance has been sought by Ba and Nadi, while Iosefo Vosaboto is helping Tavua, Saiyad Ali is with Navua, while Imdad Ali is likely to assist Lautoka.

“The districts have approached Fiji Football Association and some of the national coaches in the technical department to assist them in the IDC. So (Rajesh) Patel with the board has decided that yes Fiji FA will go and help through the coaches for teams who need assistance.”

The IDC tournament starts on Saturday week, with Labasa playing Suva at home at 2pm, while on the same day, Rewa plays Nadroga at 4pm in Nadi.

Nadi will play newcomers Tailevu Naitasiri at 6pm at home and on Sunday, Lautoka meets Ba at Churchill Park at 3pm.
