Former Fiji Airways 7s skipper Kalione Nasoko is likely to be out for the remainder of the world 7s series this season.

Nasoko left the country this morning for Scotland and FBC Sports understands to take up his contract with Edinburgh.

Edinburgh announced a month ago they have signed Nasoko and Eroni Sau.

Nasoko signed a two-year contract for the start of next season in the Pro14.

Edinburgh coach Richard Cockerill described Nasoko as “a tremendously exciting player”.

Cockerill said the 28 year old from Kese,Naviti in Yasawa brings something different to the team and gives us a little bit more of an x-factor.

Nasoko is expected to play on the wing and centers.
