Naiyaravoro chases a new record

July 24, 2018 12:02 am

Waratah’s winger Taqele Naiyaravoro could be the first Fijian to secure the title of season top try scorer in Super Rugby this weekend.

However, Naiyaravoro will not have an easy outing as the Hurricanes breakout player of the season, Ben Lam is also eyeing the title.

Both wingers are tied at 15 tries each which equals Rico Gear of the Crusaders and Brumbies’ Joe Roff – who currently hold the record.

The chance to assert their names in the competitions record book would also help their team’s chances to book a place in the final.

The Waratahs will host the Lions this weekend at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney while the Hurricanes travel to Christchurch to play defending Champions Crusaders.
