Naidau named in rugby side

Former national athletics rep, Mereseini Naidau has been named in the Fiji Under-18 girls7s rugby trial squad for the Youth Commonwealth Games in Samoa.

The long distance runner led Jasper Williams High School to their third Coca Cola Games girl’s title earlier this year.

A 43-member squad was named from Suva and Ovalau as well as the Western division following the coaching clinics conducted by the Fiji Rugby Union last month, targeting young girls.

The trials for the Fiji girls under 18 7s team will be held at 10:30am on Saturday at the Latter Day Saints College grounds in Tamavua.

The Youth Commonwealth Games will be held on September 5th -11th in Apia.
