The 24-year-old Naholo was unwanted by the Blues but had an outstanding season for the Highlanders this year and was rewarded by being named in the All Blacks squad late June.

The All Blacks will name their World Cup squad on August 31.

In 2011 Fiji-born Naholo was selected New Zealand under-20 side for the Junior World Championship, and the following year picked in the All Blacks Sevens squad.

Naholo played in every match for Taranaki in 2014, scoring nine tries in the competition and was a key player in helping his side clinch the ITM Cup national title.
