Naholo helps Highlanders beat Lions

Fijian born Waisake Naholo scored a try for Highlanders to help them defeat the Lions 39-27 in their super rugby match last night.

The loss leaves South Africa’s conference leaders still chasing their first victory over New Zealand opponents this season.

Lima Sopoaga, Liam Coltman, Luke Whitelock, Naholo and Teihorangi Walden scored tries for the home side, who grabbed their seventh win of the season to keep their playoffs hopes alive.

Meanwhile, Fijian-born winger Seta Tamanivalu scored the Crusaders third try to beat Waratahs 31-29.

Taqele Naiyaravoro who scored a try for the Waratahs was given a 10-minute stint in the sin bin in the 54th minute.

In other matches, Rebels defeated the Brumbies 27-24, and Bulls won against the Sharks 39-33 while the Stormers trailed at 15-9 to the Chiefs.
