July 16, 2014 4:24 am

The Nadroga Rugby Union will be hosting the North Otago team from New Zealand next month in Sigatoka.

This will be in the same week of the Skipper Cup semi-final, which will be played on August 9.

BLK Nadroga and North Otago have a cordial working relationship, with Stallions players such as Jovesa Kunawave, Ratunaisa Vatuinaruku and Simeli Koniferedi, having played for the Kiwi club.

Nadroga Rugby Union president, Tiko Matawalu, says the match will help in the further development of their side.

“Having the North Otago team on August 5, that is a level up from local game sand local competitions that we do prepare for. This is something we always push for and always striving to fundraise to be able to accommodate our proposed overseas tours. But now that we are hosting the overseas teams this is a boost for our development programs.”

Meanwhile, Nadroga takes on Ovalau in the Skipper Cup on Saturday at Lawaqa Park.
