The Nadroga Rugby Union aims to restore their trophy cabinet this year after a grueling and challenging season last year.

Nadroga rugby president Tiko Matawalu says the standard of local rugby competitions has improved compared to the past years.

“This year is going to be a very difficult year, there’s a lot of challenges that Nadroga rugby will be facing in trying to restore and fill in our cabinets again and it is not easy to defend nor bring back trophies either way it demands a lot of hard work and dedication.”

Matawalu says they have learnt their lesson after losing to Suva last year in the second last round of the Farebrother cup challenge.

“We are looking forward to another season this year, it’s going to be a big challenge for us trying to defend the skipper cup and also trying to challenge the Farebrother which we lost grip to Suva last year.”

Nadroga has started their preparation towards the Skipper cup competition which kick-off in April.
