September 30, 2014 12:05 am

The Nadi Football Association says Suva will have to pay $8000 to secure the release of Napolioni Qasevakatini ahead of the Courts Inter District Championships.

Qasevakatini, who has joined the Whites and training with the team, was one of the Nadi’s key players up until this season.

Nadi football president, Navaneeda Goundar, says they will not hold any player who doesn’t want to play for them but proper procedures need to be followed and contractual obligations met.

Fiji Football Association chief executive Bob Kumar says Suva has disputed this amount and the parent body will be making a call on this issue by this afternoon.

Suva is claiming they only need to pay $6000.

The IDC tournament starts on Saturday, with Labasa playing Suva at home at 2pm, while on the same day, Rewa plays Nadroga at 4pm in Nadi.

Nadi will play newcomers Tailevu Naitasiri at 6pm at home and on Sunday, Lautoka meets Ba at Churchill Park at 3pm.
