Nadi banks on imports

The Nadi football side will depend on its New Zealand based imports Horace James and Imraan Shah plus the goal scoring machine Rusiate Matarerega to deliver in the Courts Inter District Championship semifinal against Lautoka today.

The imports have played a vital role in the side’s three victory so far while Matarerega is the top goal scorer grabbing four goals in three matches.

Nadi President Javed Ahmed says they are confident to overcome an experienced Lautoka side.

“Lautoka is a very good side but I have confident in my boys that we can beat Lautoka. We have to stay together and work really hard because it will be a tough semi-final.”

The Babz-Khan-coached side will also try and end a 16-year-old-drought as they last won the IDC title in 2002 when they defeated Rewa at Govind Park.
