A large crowd turned up at Prince Charles Park yesterday to witness the opening ceremony of the FANCA–ICC Muslim Soccer Tournament.
Chief Guest and Minister of Youths and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou commended the effort of the Fiji Muslim League and Fiji Football Association for the arranging such an event for Fiji-born Muslims from around the globe.
Tuitubou says the tournament will bring about the unity in the ethnic races as sport has done that on numerous occasions in Fiji’s history.
Teams from Australia, New Zealand as well as local teams will be taking part in the tournament from today.
