The caretakers of the Namosau Horse Racing Course are hopeful that they will be able to complete the leftover upgrade works at the newly opened course in Ba.

The Ministry of Local Government gave $203,000 for major upgrade works in June this year and the race course was opened yesterday.

Tournament organizer, Anil Kumar thanked the government for their contribution and called on for their continued support.

“We were looking forward to this standard of at this arena for quite a long time. We do hope that our Government will facilitate further so that we get this structure developed fully.”

More than 70 horses took part in yesterday’s tournament with close to 1000 people witnessing them.
