More top class players for Fiji Open

December 3, 2014 11:22 pm

The 2015 Fiji International Golf tournament could see more top class players in action at the Natadola Bay Championship Course in Sigatoka.

PGA Chief Executive Brian Thorburn says that the competition, which will be held on October 15th-18th, will be held the week after the President’s Cup in Korea.

Thorburn says the President’s Cup will see top 12 players from the United States take on the top 12 Rest of the World players.

“If anybody asks me who’s signed up already, it’s a little bit early. We will be talking to them in the first quarter of next year and we’ll be making announcements as we go along. But we believe that this date should make it very straight-forward to secure a very strong field.”

Thorburn adds another reason they have shifted the tournament dates from September to October is because this will be the off-peak season for the tourism industry, providing more rooms in hotels.
