Mo Salah considers quitting national team

Mo Salah is considering quitting the Egyptian national team due to his unhappiness over what has happened in Chechnya, where the team is based at the World Cup in Russia.

It had been reported the 26-year-old was considering his future with the squad after a series of disagreements.

BBC Sports reports Salah was unhappy after being photographed with Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

Salah had been pictured with Kadyrov, who was accused of using the player for political propaganda.

He was upset his image had been used in a promotion for official sponsor WE when he had a sponsorship deal with rival telecommunications firm Vodafone.

Egypt’s final World Cup game is against Saudi Arabia at 2am tomorrow.
