The Ministry of Youth and Sports is waiting for a request from the Fiji Rugby Union on what is needed for the Vodafone Fiji 7’s team’s preparations to the Rio Olympics.

SODELPA Member of Parliament, Mosese Bulitavu raised the question on whether government could help with specialists for mental training and conditioning of the players.

Minister Laisenia Tuitubou simply replied that any such request has to come from coach Ben Ryan, which is not the case as yet.

“We will leave that to Ben, he is capable of doing that and he will inform us if he needs support.”

$4.1 million has been allocated for the Team Fiji contingent to prepare for and participate in the Rio Olympic Games in August.
