Javier Hernandez scored his 50th international goal to help Mexico take a big step towards the last 16 of the World Cup with an impressive 2-1 win over South Korea.
Mexico earlier upset defending champions Germany in their opening world cup campaign in Group F and they proved again this morning that they will be a test for any side in the knockout stages.
Mexico’s scores came from Carlos Vela in the 26th minute of play and a goal from Javier Hernandez in the 66th minute.
Korea’s Son Heung-min made a stunning late strike in the stoppage time.
Only a win by Germany will prevent South Korea from being knocked out off the tournament with a group game remaining.
