Men’s football team works on a quick recovery

Team Fiji Men’s Football side will use today for quick recovery before playing Papua New Guinea in the bronze medal playoff tomorrow at the Pacific Games.

This is after Fiji drew with Solomon Islands 4-all last night.

Coach Christophe Gamel says he was pleased with the game.

“It was a super game, very intense, from both sides. It was a totally open game, we really wanted to win but then 8 goals in a game with weather conditions like that, and I have to salute the boys and also Solomons. We have to be honest, we really enjoyed this game.”

Gamel says now they have to recover before taking on Papua New Guinea.

“Light matters on how we will recover, to be ready for the bronze medal, but what an achievement to reach there because it was really a death pool. I congratulate the boys for this.”

Fiji meets PNG at 8am for the bronze medal playoff.
