The Solomon Islands Under-19 football side will be coached by one of their former stars, Commins Menapi.
The side, which will battle Fiji, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, American Samoa and New Caledonia, have already arrived into the country and harbor high hopes.
Menapi is no stranger to Fijian football, having played for Nadi and Navua, on the local scene.
The side will be banking on striker Kevin Obed, who plays for Nelson FC in New Zealand.
The championships start at 2.30pm on Friday with Fiji taking on American Samoa.
Vanuatu meets New Caledonia at 5pm, before the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea clash at 7.30pm.
You can catch live commentaries of Fiji’s games on Radio Fiji 2 with the voice of soccer, Raymond Stoddart and also watch the matches live on FBC TV.
