Medal rush for Team Fiji at Special Olympics

Fiji has recorded a spectacular performance at the Special Olympics in Los Angeles, USA, collecting 3 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Molly Thomas won two gold medals in the Mini Javelin throw and 100 meters race while Abdul Sharrif crossed the tape first in the 400 meters race.

The duo ran the 4×100 meters relay race alongside Iferemi Biutisuva and Sikeli Nakoivalu and won silver.

Biutisuva won a silver medal in the 200 meters race and a bronze medal in Long Jump.

Nakoivalu also won a bronze medal in the Mini Javelin event.

Asenaca Rokorairuku won a bronze medal in the women’s 200 meters race.

Six athletes are representing Fiji in the Special Olympics for the first time.

The Special Olympics comes to a close tomorrow.
