McKee praises local players in camp

With the final 24- member squad yet to be named for the Pacific Nations Cup this Saturday, Coach John McKee is impressed with the local-based player’s performance.

Players like Eroni Mawi, Serupepeli Vularika, Mosese Voka and Ratunaisa Vuma have caught the attention of the coach.

McKee says these players will put pressure on the final selection.

“Looking at the scrums we have put a lot of work over the past few years and we have seen a bigger improvements in those areas and the pleasing thing for me now is we are seeing some of the real depths with some of these young players like Eroni Mawi coming through and am very pleased with their progress so I think they’re really in a position to put pressure on some of the most senior players for a position in the test team.”

Fiji plays Samoa in the first test match at 3.30 pm at ANZ Stadium in Suva on Saturday.
