Fiji Airways Flying Fijians coach John McKee says he’s likely to include Nikola Matawalu in his squad for next year’s Rugby World Cup but it will all depend on his performance.

McKee says Matawalu has been playing well for his Glasgow Warriors club in Scotland.

He says Matawalu can play as a scrum-half and also on the wings which is an advantage for him being a utility player.

“We know Nikola Matawalu is an outstanding player and he has played very well for us in the past. The thing for Matawalu is at Glasgow he is playing on the wing and we probably still see him as a half-back so that makes things interesting. But talking about utility players he is one of those utility players who could be valuable in the Rugby World Cup squad as a player who can cover two positions.”

Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians will play more than seven test matches while preparing for the Rugby World Cup in Japan next year.
