McKee here to stay

October 8, 2015 12:53 am

Vodafone Flying Fijians coach, John McKee says he has set his sights on guiding the team through to the 2019 World Cup in Japan.

McKee’s side could only manage a win from four games in a pool containing top nations, England, Australia and Wales.

The Kiwi mentor, who only took up the reins last year, says there is still so much he wants to achieve with the Flying Fijians before considering a future elsewhere.

“My contract with Fiji Rugby Union, through the Fiji Sports Commission, goes until 2017. I would certainly like to start talking to Fiji Rugby Union almost immediately after the World Cup review to look to stay until 2019.”

The majority of the Flying Fijians have returned to their various clubs today with only a handful of players to return with the coaching staff at 8:30am tomorrow at Nadi International Airport.
