McKee happy with fitness of Flying Fijians

Fitness is not a factor in the Vodafone Flying Fijians failing to finish strong in the Pacific Nations Cup.

This is the view of coach, John McKee after the side gave up a 17-point lead to draw 30-all against Samoa over the weekend.

McKee says the team gave away too many penalties at the ruck area and were caught offside, which enabled Samoa to mount a comeback in the second half.

The national side showed vast improvement in the set-pieces and attacking plays, which rattled their island rivals.

Changes are expected in Fiji’s final pool clash against Japan this week as McKee continues to rotate players and test out his combinations.

The team held a pool session and church service in Canada today in preparation for their clash against Japan at 2pm on Thursday in Toronto.

A win will guarantee Fiji’s place in the 1st and 2nd place PNC play-off next week.
