National rugby rep Nikola Matawalu is most likely to fly out sometimes this week to Scotland to join rugby club Glasgow Rangers.

Matawalu confirmed that he made the visa application last week and is expected to get all documents today.

He says he hopes to fly-off by the weekend.

“The visa takes one week. I applied last week to Manila. It will come back sometime tomorrow, Monday and I hope to go by Thursday or Friday to join Glasgow.”

Matawalu was offered a contract to play for the Scottish club about a month ago.

The contractual obligation means he will not be part of the sevens series but could play for the Flying Fijians in the November tests.
