The Oceania Masters Hockey tournament begins today at the National Hockey Centre in Laucala Bay.

The tournament was opened on Monday with a special yaqona ceremony to welcome the Australian Masters men’s and women’s teams as well as invited guests which included Oceania Hockey representative, Jill Gemming.

The opening match of the four-day tournament will see the Fiji Women’s masters team taking on Australia at 5.30pm.

The men’s match between Fiji and Australia will follow.

The display of hockey should prove interesting as a handful of former national and state reps will feature in both divisions.
