1264 primary school rugby players from 42 schools in Cakaudrove Bua and Macuata are competing for final positions in the team that will represent the North in next month’s National Kaji Rugby Competition.
The 2018 Northern Vodafone Kaji Competition got underway at Subrail Park in Labasa this morning with eight zone participating.
They are Taveuni, Cakaudrove East, Cakaudrove West, Buca, Bua, Macuata South, Macuata and UduTawake.
Opening the games this morning, Vodafone Business Accounts Manager North Savnish Kumar says Kaji Rugby has been around for a number of years and has produced some big names in the national and international rugby scene.
Speaking to children participating in the games, Kumar encouraged them to train hard, play smart and strive to perfect their skills.
To the parents, he reminded them that not everyone will become Fiji rugby reps but they have positioned their child to learn team work, dedication and to strive for success.
The competition ends tomorrow.
