Former national swimming rep, Wilisoni Malani is eyeing a spot in the Fiji Weightlifting team to compete in the Oceania Weightlifting Championship in Suva next year.

The Marist Brothers High School student, is the younger brother of national swimming champion, Meli Malani.

He joined the Suva Weightlifting Club only a year ago after and is eager to prove his worth against the best lifters in the region next year.

“I think I have the potential to do well in weightlifting. In the Oceania Championship next year, I hope to improve on my lifting and to win a medal will be a bonus.”

The Oceania Weightlifting Championship will be held in May next year in Suva.
