The young women, all of whom are secondary school students were selected following a trial two weeks ago.

For 17 year-old Josephine Maria, this might just be break she needs to make it big.

“I have been playing for some time in the secondary schools rugby challenge. The first challenge we had, we went to Seaqaqa and I heard that the trials were going on in Labasa. So, I just took a challenge to come and take part. I been trying my best to wear the white jersey for Fiji.”

The National Women’s Age Grade Provincial 7’s Championship will be held in Nadi on the 12th of December.
