Fiji Airways Flying Fijians play-maker Frank Lomani has secured a part-time contract with Melbourne Rebels until the end of the Super Rugby season.

Flying Fijians coach, John McKee says it’s a timely boost for Lomani who is expected to play a major role in the mid-year test matches.

“We have been talking to them for a little while and probably when Wil Genia got injured it accelerated the process a little bit. It’s a great opportunity for Frank {Lomani}. He got a short-term contract which will go through the end of the season.”

Meanwhile, the Fiji Warriors takes on Australia in a match at 10.30pm on Friday.
