Locals came out to support the team during their training at Akigin Stadium in Akita and they made the Flying Fijians feel at home.

When John McKee and the national side arrived yesterday they received a hero’s welcome from Echo Junior Rugby Club in Akita.

Fiji Ambassador to Japan Isikeli Mataitoga and staff of the Fiji Embassy greeted the team together with Deputy Mayor of Akita City, Ishii Syuetsu.

The Flying Fijians will face the Wallabies in their first match on the 21st of this month.
