With four months until the World Weightlifting Championship, Levuka-based weightlifters are still waiting for the amendment report from the Fiji Sports Commission on their participation.
Levuka Weightlifting Club President Peni Tawai says the report is about finding a solution to the problematic issues between Weightlifting Fiji and its elite athletes in the Levuka club.
According to his email, they cannot wait any longer as the lifters are passionate about representing the country and despite not receiving the report, they have started building their new gym using whatever resources they can find to construct it.
However, Commission Chair Peter Mazey says they have received the report from Weightlifting Fiji and the commission will make an announcement next week based once they amend the report.
