Leone Nakarawa unavailable for Commonwealth Games

Fiji’s off load king and Olympic Gold medalist Leone Nakarawa has revealed to FBC Sports that he will not be part of the Fiji 7s side to the Commonwealth Games in April.

Nakarawa says April is the busiest month for French rugby and he will be committed to the club games.

He says he has informed the Fiji Rugby Union of his decision.

“I’m not going to try out for the Commonwealth Games because if I come it will be a clash with our schedule for the European Cup.”

Lanky Flying Fijians forward, Nakarawa says he will be available for the World Cup in USA.

“I’m looking forward to the World Cup in July because that’s during our off season so I think Commonwealth Games I won’t make it.”

With Nakarawa out of contention for the Commonwealth Games, the availability of other French based players like Semi Radradra, Josua Tuisova, Semi Kunatani and Levani Botia remains a concern.
